India, U.K. sign MoU on customs
By Our Special Correspondent
LONDON, MARCH 24. India and the United Kingdom have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in customs
matters.
The chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs, Mr. B.P.
Verma, signed the MoU on behalf of India and the Director-
General of Business Services and Taxes, Mr. Mike Eland, for the
U.K.
Mr. Verma said the MoU identified areas of further cooperation
and hoped that it would give an impetus to trade. He expressed
satisfaction over the ``healthy growth'' of bilateral trade
which, he said, was poised to touch £ 5 billions.
