Rushmi, Manisha move up

NEW DELHI, MARCH 23. Rushmi Chakravarthi upset the eighth-seeded Monique Adamczak of Australia 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-0 to move into the pre- quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF women's circuit tennis tournament on grass in Wodonga, Australia, on Friday.

Rushmi who collected a bonus WTA point for beating the Aussie, a title-winner in a similar tournament in Jaipur last year, will meet qualifier Guilia Meruzzi of Italy in the second round.

In another first round, played after two days of rain, the third- seeded Manisha Malhotra beat Debby Haak of the Netherlands 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-2. Manisha will meet qualifier Medita Suer of Germany who beat Sai Jayalakshmy 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Amritraj cousins in final

NEW DELHI, MARCH 23. The Amritraj cousins, Prakash and Stephen, moved into the doubles final with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 victory over the top-seeded Jason Zimmermann of the US and Yeu Tzuoo Wang of Chinese Taipei in the grade `II' ITF junior tennis tournament in Singapore on Friday.

In the final, Prakash and Stephen will meet Jonathan Chu of the US and Pramote Malasitt of Thailand who beat Steve Darcis of Belgium and Craig Evans of Britain 6-4, 6-1.
