FII investment this year net Rs. 5,900 cr.

CHENNAI, FEB. 25. The gross purchases of foreign institutional
investors (FIIs) in February so far were Rs. 5,654 crores. With
gross sales at Rs. 4,027 crores, net investments in both equity
and debt were Rs. 1,627 crores.
According to the data available with the Securities and Exchange
Board of India(SEBI), gross purchases in both equity and debt
markets since the beginning of January in the current year stood
at Rs. 14,255 crores and gross sales at Rs. 8,355 crores, the net
investments being Rs. 5,900 crores.
In January gross purchases were Rs. 8,601 crores and gross sales
Rs. 4,327.70 crores with net investments working out to Rs.
4,273.30 crores.
Gross purchases of equities during February 1-22 were Rs.
5,210.20 crores and in debt Rs. 443.40 crores. With gross sales
in equity during the period at Rs. 3,669.30 crores and in debts
at Rs. 357.60 crores, the net investments in equity were Rs.
1,541 crores and in debt Rs. 85.80 crores.
