AIADMK warns partymen against 'ticket' agents
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, FEB. 23. The AIADMK general secretary, Ms. Jayalalitha,
today warned her partymen against falling prey to those who were
collecting money with a promise of the AIADMK ticket in the
Assembly election.
In a statement, she said a former AIADMK minister was demanding
money from AIADMK ticket aspirants and assuring them seats.
Partymen should not be deceived by those who claimed to be close
to her, or senior party leaders and demanded money in return for
the party ticket.
At no time had she entertained recommendations of anyone for the
party ticket. Disciplinary action would be taken against not only
those who indulged in collecting money by promising the party
ticket, but also against those who gave money to others seeking
the party ticket.
She had already expelled from the AIADMK the former minister, Mr.
Ammamuthu Pillai, and four partymen in this connection.
Irregularities were never a part of the AIADMK candidate
selection, she added.
