Hinduja Finance shareholders approve ESOP

BANGALORE, FEB. 21. The EGM of Hinduja Finance Corporation Ltd, held here today approved the Employees Stock Option (ESOP) scheme. The shareholders also approved changing the company's name to reposition it as the Technology, Media and Telecommunication Convergence Corporation in which the Bangalore headquartered ALIT (IT division of Hinduja Finance) is a major player.

The paid up capital and net worth of Hinduja Finance Corporation as on March 31 is expected to be Rs 35.8 crores and Rs 323 crores respectively without taking into account profitability as a result of the mergers already approved. The total number of employees will be around 1,800. The ALIT established in 1993 offers software technology solutions to international businesses.

Dairy seminar

The National Milk Seminar on Marketing and Business Development will be held here on February 23 and 24 organised jointly by the Karnataka Milk Federation and Tetra Pak. The Minister for Animal Husbandry, Mr. A.Krishnappa, the KMF Chairman, Mr. H.D.Revanna, the Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. N.Viswanathan and Mr. Animesh Banerjee, President, Indian Dairy Association, will be present at the inaugural session.

The focus of the seminar this year will be on marketing. A panel of industry experts and leading marketing practitioners from India and overseas will cover issues ranging from marketing and brand strategy and communications to retail and distribution of dairy products.

Zenith Notebook

The Zenith 21A Notebook Computer has emerged as the clean winner in an enduring battle of performance held by the Test Centre of Chip magazine. The test reportedly proved that Zenith's theme of "MNC Quality-Indian Prices" and the notebook surpassed other brands by clocking in the highest score of 83.22 per cent in performance.

Zenith 21A Notebook has been rated as the ideal desktop replacement and also as the sturdiest of the 13 brands that were subjected to rigorous testing by Chip. It is equipped with an Intel Mobile Pentium III 650 MHz processor, 128 MB main memory, CD ROM drive, video graphics and other features.

Cadence bags huge order

Cadence Design Systems, Bangalore, the Indian arm of Cadence Design Systems Inc of the U.S. has (obtained) a significant order to supply electronic design (ED) tools to MosChip Semiconductor Technology Ltd. MosChip will use the technology in chip design for Internet applications. The areas of usage will include logic verification, synthesis and physical layout, and will be augmented by a training and product upgrade programme.

Cadence is the largest supplier of electronic design automation products, methodology services and design services used to accelerate and manage the design of semi-conductors, computer systems, networking and telecom equipment, consumer electronics and a variety of other electronics-based products.
