Jail term for ULFA leader

DHAKA, FEB. 18. The arrested ULFA leader, Mr. Anup Chetia, was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of taka 5000 by the Special Tribunal Judge Court of Dhaka for illegally possessing currencies of 16 countries.

The court also acquitted his two Indian accomplices, Mr. Laxmi Prasad and Mr. Babul Sharma, of the charge. This is the second conviction of Mr. Chetia who was earlier sentenced by a court for illegal entry into Bangladesh.
