GNLF defers bandh
SILIGURI, FEB. 18. With Mr. Subash Ghising back to the Darjeeling
hills today after his discharge from hospital, the indefinite
bandh, called by the Gorkha National Liberation Front, to protest
against the attempt on its leader's life was postponed.
The GNLF's Kurseong Branch committee president, Mr. I.N. Pradhan,
announced the postponement of the bandh from 6 a.m. tomorrow with
a rider that the bandh may be revived if the police fails to nab
the attackers.
