New CJ of Orissa

CUTTACK, FEB. 17. Mr. Justice N.Y. Hanumanthappa was today sworn- in as the new Chief Justice of Orissa at a simple function here.

Mr. Justice Hanumanthappa, who was earlier a judge in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, was administered the oath by the Orissa Governor, Mr. M. M. Rajendran.

The Chief Minister, Mr. Naveen Patnaik, the Minister for Revenue and Law, Mr. Biswabhushan Harichandan, the Minister for Urban Development, Mr. Samir Dey, judges of the High Court, the State's Chief Secretary, Mr. D.P. Bagchi, the Home Secretary, Mr. Tarunkanti Mishra, the Advocate General, Mr. Sovesh Roy, and president of the High Court Bar Association, Mr. B. K. Mohanty, among others, were present on the occasion.
