The three Hinduja brothers, accused in the Rs. 64-crore Bofors payoffs case, wanting to go abroad to look after their business interests, have to wait till February 26 as their applications seeking permission to leave the country have been adjourned by the Delhi High Court.

Centre's plea on Raghavan admitted
The Karnataka High Court today admitted a writ petition filed by the Union Government challenging the order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Bangalore, which set aside the appointment of Mr. R.K. Raghavan as director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

'Not in a hurry to join ASEAN'
The External Affairs Minister, Mr. Jaswant Singh, today referred to the possibility of India becoming a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) given India's contiguous land border with Myanmar.

India has accepted invitations for the President, Mr. K. R. Narayanan, and the Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, to visit Myanmar.

The blame lies at Cong. door: VHP
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today charged that Mr. Ahmed Patel, Congress Working Committee member, had ``organised a demonstration of Muslim youths who were paid to participate'' during the visit of the Congress president, Ms. Sonia Gandhi, to Gujarat. The allegation was that it was Ms. Gandhi, not the VHP, who injected religion into relief work in the State.

Cong. attacks 'cultural fascism'
The Congress today continued to attack the Sangh Parivar's attempt to impose a moral code of conduct on the country, with the party spokesman, Mr. Anand Sharma, accusing the former of trying to ``impose cultural fascism''.
