Statute review panel term extended
The Union Cabinet today formally decided to
extend the term of the National Commission to review the working
of the Constitution by eight months, upto October 31.

Govt. to dilute stake in Maruti
The Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment today
formally decided to dilute the Government's equity holding in the
Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), where it is a 50 per cent shareholder
with Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation. While the quantum of
dilution would be decided in consultation with Suzuki, an
outright sale of government equity would be decided possibly by
September.
Cong. emissary for Chennai soon
A Congress emissary will travel to Chennai in
the next few days, as planned. The party has taken note of the
weekend ``deadline'' set by the AIADMK, and senior Congress
leaders say they will act ``in due course of time''. The visit,
party sources however clarify, has nothing to do with the
``deadline'' set by Ms. Jayalalitha.

'Anti-dumping cases will dampen trade with China'

said the spate of anti-dumping cases being filed by India against
products from his country would depress Sino-Indian trade at a
