Mild tremors in Sikkim, Bengal
NEW DELHI, FEB. 10. An earthquake of mild intensity, epicentred
in Bhutan, shook the northern areas of West Bengal and Sikkim
yesterday, the Indian Meteorology Department here today said.
The earthquake, measuring four on the Richter scale, occurred at
3.51 p.m. Its epicentre lay at 27.4 degrees north latitude and
89.4 degrees east longitude in Bhutan.
People in Siliguri and its adjoining areas felt the quake,
officials there said.
