Ambirajan dead

CHENNAI, FEB. 5. Dr. S. Ambirajan, a retired professor and son of the late Prof. K. S. Srinivasa Iyengar, died here on Sunday night. He was 65.

An economist, Dr. Ambirajan authored a number of books dealing with economic history and taxation of corporate income and on various theories. He wrote frequently in newspapers and was a regular contributor of articles to The Hindu. His focus was not only on economics but also on political, health and social issues.

He joined the IIT in 1981 and served there till his retirement. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
