CM invites CEOs of global giants to send teams

HYDERABAD, FEB. 1. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu,
who returned after attending the World Economic Forum meeting in
Davos, has invited CEOs of global giants to send teams to Andhra
Pradesh to explore possibilities for investments and setting up
offices in the State.
Among the corporate heads Mr. Naidu met in his third Davos trip
are Messrs Bill Gates of Microsoft, Michael Dell of Dell
Computers, Philip M. Condit of Boeing, Carleton S. Fiona (Hewlett
Packard), Peter D. Sutherland (Goldman Sachs) and Masayoshi Son (
Softbank Corporation).
"They have agreed to send teams to Hyderabad to see if they can
make investments or open offices", Mr. Naidu said at a news
conference here on Thursday.
The visit was basically to establish or renew contacts with to
people in Government, industry, business and academics and market
opportunities available in Andhra Pradesh abroad. Mr. Naidu met
Mr. Yoshiro Mori, Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Lew Kuwan Yew,
Senior Minister, Singapore, Mr. Robert Carr, Prime Minister, New
South Wales, Australia, and Mr. Supachai Panitchapakdi, Deputy
Prime Minister, Thailand.
The Chief Minister attended several sessions and made
presentations relating to e-governance, digital divide,
`Southbound on Information Highway', etc.
