Date for filing IT returns extended

NEW DELHI, FEB. 1. The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended
the due date for submission of return of income for the
assessment year 2000-01 up to February 28, 2001.
Individuals covered by the one-by-six criteria are required to
file their returns if they satisfy one of the six prescribed
criteria of ownership of immovable property, ownership or lessee
of motor vehicle, telephone connection, incurring of expenses on
foreign travel, holder of credit card and membership of club, an
official statement said here today.
