Conversion of LoC only solution: Farooq
JAMMU, FEB.1. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq
Abdullah, today said conversion of the Line of Control into an
international border was the only wayout to restore peace in the
State.
Speaking at the third Amar Kapoor lecture here, he said ``the
outcome of any talk could be nothing other than conversion of the
LoC into the international border''.
He, however, said ``talks with Islamabad too will begin, not
under the threat of gun but on the belief that the future of the
sub-continent lies in peace between the two neighbours.''
The Chief Minister was open to talks with anyone and said the
impression the Track II team got during its visit to Pakistan was
that Islamabad hoped to get Kashmir on a platter. ``For buying
peace with Islamabad, India cannot part even an inch of Jammu and
Kashmir''.
