Cong., BJP contesting Hindoli seat

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, JAN. 31. The stage is set for a fierce battle for the Hindoli Assembly seat in Rajasthan, with both the Congress and the BJP fielding strong candidates.

The Gujjar-dominated constituency was held by Mrs. Rama Pilot. She resigned her Assembly seat after winning the Dausa Parliamentary by-elections caused by the death of her husband, Rajesh Pilot. Given the predominance of Gujjars in the constituency, both the main parties have put up Gujjar candidates. The Congress has decided to put Mr. Ram Karan Gujjar, while the BJP today announced the candidature of Mr. Nathulal Gujjar.
