Producer appears suo motu in Rizvi-Shah case
MUMBAI, JAN. 31. The film producer, Mansoor Siddiqui, today
appeared before a Special Court, which ordered him to make
himself available to police until February 15 for questioning in
a case involving Bollywood- underworld nexus. The Special Public
Prosecutor, Ms. Rohini Salian, informed that the police had not
concluded interrogations in this case and desired to question
Mansoor further since his name had cropped up as a passing
reference in evidence placed before the court.
The producer had suo motu moved the Special Court on January 24
seeking a direction to the investigating agency to state whether
he was required in this case for interrogations.
Mansoor had urged through his lawyers, Majeed Memon and Abbas
Kazmi, that he had come across media reports, which said that he
was an absconding accused in this case which also involves
producer, Nasim Rizvi and financier, Bharat Shah. Mansoor denied
links with the underworld.
