21 ULFA militants surrender with firearms

JORHAT, JAN. 23. Altogether 21 ULFA militants, led by Mukut Deka, assistant commandant, of the Subansiri Anchalik unit, have surrendered with a large number of sophisticated firearms before the Assam Border Area Development Minister, Mr. Bimal Gowala, and Golaghat district authorities, official sources said here today.

The surrendered militants last night submitted two Ak-47 rifles, one Ak-56 rifle and a sten gun, two carbines, a revolver, 60 hand grenades and a huge amount of ammunition.
