Extend ceasefire: Army Chief
India should extend further the Kashmir
ceasefire to help in initiating a ``peace process'' in the State,
the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. S. Padmanabhan, has said.
Pak. pleased with Hurriyat team
Pakistan tonight urged India to facilitate
the travel of ``all members'' of the All Parties Hurriyat
Conference (APHC) to Islamabad for consultations to prepare the
ground for a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
SAARC situation vital: Wahid
The Indonesian President, Mr. Abdurrahman
Wahid, has said it is ``impossible'' to improve the relationship
between India and Indonesia without a ``further improvement in
the situation of the SAARC''.
'No invitation to Musharraf'
No invitation had been extended to the
Pakistani Chief Executive, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, to visit India,

ANDi, the world's first GM monkey
Scientists have created the world's first
genetically-modified monkey, a baby rhesus called ANDi. The feat
could hasten the development of new treatments for a range of
diseases, from diabetes and breast cancer to Parkinson's and HIV.

Prof. Gerald Schatten. ``We're at an extraordinary moment in the
