Bomb hoax
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, JAN. 10. An anonymous caller threatened to blow up two
antique steam engines exhibited in front of the General Manager's
Office, Southern Railway on Wednesday, leading to an RPF security
operation.
However the call proved to be a hoax.
According to police, an anonymous call was received by the office
of Chief Security Commissioner of RPF, that bombs have been
planted in the two engines exhibited in front of the GM's office
and it would explode. Following the call, two sniffer dog squads
- one from the State Police and another from RPF, were pressed
into service, but the check proved it to be a hoax.
