Auditors conference
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, JAN. 8. The Institute of Internal Auditors of India
through its Chennai Chapter will host the 25th all India
Conference on Internal Audit. It will be held at Taj Coromandel,
Chennai, on January 19-20. The institute expects around 250-300
delegates from all over India.
Mr. N. Vittal, Chief Vigilance Commissioner, will deliver the
inaugural address while Mr. Jean-Pierre Garitte, former Chairman
of IIA International Board and now Ambassador, KPMG Management
Assurance Services at Brussels, Belgium, will participate in the
conference and deliver a special keynote address on the
conference theme ``Building Bridges in a Borderless World.''
Considering the current focus on information technology, the
conference's theme ``Building bridges in a borderless world'' is
appropriate. It recognises the fact the today's internal auditors
have to re-orient themselves to the emerging technologies in
whatever industry or enterprise segment they may be engaged in.
The interface between the auditor and the organization provides
new challenges and opportunities.
Some of the eminent speakers include Mr. S. Mahalingam, Vice
President, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Chennai, Mr. A.
Ramakrishna, Joint Managing Director, Larsen & Toubro, Mumbai,
and Mr. Narayana Seshadri, Country Head, Arthur Anderson, Mumbai.
