Interim budget on Jan. 19

CHENNAI, JAN. 8. The Cabinet which met here today discussed matters related to the Governor's Address and the interim budget to be presented when the Assembly meets from January 19.

The Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, presided over the Cabinet meeting, which is understood to have finalised the Governor's Address to be delivered on the opening day of what is expected to be last session of the present Assembly.

The interim budget is to be presented by the Chief Minister on January 29.

The Government would go in for a vote-on-account for the first six months of the financial year 2001-02.
