Rupee dips further against $
MUMBAI, JAN. 4. The rupee continued to decline against the U.S.
currency on steady dollar demand from corporates and importers,
but ended off intra-day lows in fairly active trade at the
interbank foreign exchange market here today.
Opening around Rs.46.70/72 a dollar, the rupee dipped to intraday
lows of 46.74/75, before settling at the close at 46.7225/7275, a
1-3/4 paise fall from overnight closing levels of 46.7050/7100.
It had depreciated by around 4-1/2 paise in the earlier two
consecutive sessions.
