Mild tremors in Dharmapuri
DHARMAPURI, JAN. 4. Mild tremors rocked Dharmapuri and its
surrounding areas for a few seconds in the wee hours of Thursday.
The tremor, which occurred roughly at 4.20 a.m., sent people
scurrying out of their houses. However, no major damage was
reported. The tremor was felt in the villages within the five km
radius around Dharmapuri.
Mr. Rajarathinam, PA (General) to Collector, said that according
to the meteorological department in Chennai, the shock was of the
magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. - Our Staff Reporter.
