Minister resigns to make way for Jogi

RAIGARH, JAN. 4. A Chattisgarh Minister of State, Mr. Tuleshwar Singh, has resigned his Premnagar seat to make way for the Chief Minister, Mr. Ajit Jogi, to enter the State Assembly and counter the Opposition charge that Mr. Jogi had got BJP MLA, Mr. Ram Dayal Uikey, abducted and secured his resignation to get his seat vacated.

The Minister told reporters in Bilaspur yesterday that he had sent his resignation to the Assembly Speaker, Mr. Rajendra Prasad Shukla. Mr. Shukla yesterday announced the resignation of Mr. Uikey and the Congress said it was prompted by infighting in BJP.

Mr. Singh said his resignation was not for any political gains but he quit only to make way for Mr. Jogi, his ``political guru''.
