Nitish has not quit: Fernandes
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, JAN. 4. The Defence Minister and senior Samata Party
leader, Mr. George Fernandes, today dismissed the reported
resignation of Union Agriculture Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar, from
the Cabinet and said internal developments in his party would
have no impact on the NDA Government at the Centre. ``There is no
such thing (resignation),'' he added.
Ruling out the possibility of a split in the Samata Party
following intra-party differences on the issue of merger with the
Janata Dal (United), Mr. Fernandes said there was no turmoil in
his party. He said if there were any domestic dispute, they would
be sorted out amicably.
He was here to witness the test-flying of the first prototype of
the Light Combat Aircraft.
