Steve Waugh, second most capped player in history

SYDNEY, JAN. 2. Australian captain Steve Waugh made his 132nd test appearance in the fifth and final Test against West Indies at the Sydney Cricket Ground today to become the second most capped player in history.

West Indian fast bowler Courtney Walsh made his 127th appearance in the same match to move into fourth place on the all-time list.

Former Australian captain Allan Border holds the record with 156 Test appearances.

Most appearances in Test match cricket: 156 Allan Border (Australia); 132 Steve Waugh (Australia); 131 Kapil Dev (India); 127 Courtney Walsh (West Indies); 125 Sunil Gavaskar (India); 124 Javed Miandad (Pakistan); 121 Vivian Richards (West Indies); 119 Ian Healy (Australia); 118 Graham Gooch (England); 117 David Gower (England).
