Alliance Air special flights for Kumbh Mela

NEW DELHI, JAN. 2. Alliance Air, a subsidiary of the Indian
Airlines, will operate special flights to Allahabad between
January 7 and 31 and on February 6, 7, 19 and 20 during the Kumbh
Mela.
The Boeing B-737 will operate on the Delhi - Lucknow - Allahabad
- Patna - Calcutta route. The flight CD 7411 will depart from
Delhi at 5-40 p.m., arrive in Lucknow at 6-30 p.m., leave Lucknow
at 7 p.m., arrive in Allahabad at 7-45 p.m.
The flight will leave Allahabad at 8-15 p.m. and arrive at Patna
at 9-05 p.m., depart from Patna at 9-35 p.m. and arrive in
Calcutta at 10-30 p.m. The return flight will leave Calcutta at 8
a.m. and arrive in Delhi at 1 p.m. via Patna, Allahabad and
Lucknow.
Allahabad has been added as a special sector on the regular
Delhi-Lucknow-Patna-Calcutta flight.
The airline will operate to Allahabad on this route on January 7,
8, 12, 13, 21, 22, 27 and 28 and February 6, 7, 19 and 20. The
return flight will be operated on January 10, 11, 15, 16, 26, 27,
30 and 31 and February 9, 10, 22 and 23.
The flights have been planned on such dates as to enable pilgrims
to reach Allahabad a day before the important bathing days,
including Paush Purnima (January 9), Makar Sankranti (January 14-
15), Mauni Amavasya (January 24), Basant Panchami (January 29),
Magh Purnima (February 8) and Maha Shivratri (February 21).
