AIADMK, DMK clash in Lok Sabha

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, DEC. 14. Members of the AIADMK and the DMK clashed in the Lok Sabha today in the midst of the debate on the motion seeking removal of the three Ministers charged with conspiracy to demolish the Babri Masjid.

The DMK MP, Mr. S.S. Palanimanickam, alleged that the AIADMK had sent `karsevaks' to Ayodhya and this led to a protest by the AIADMK members including Mr. P.H.Pandian, who came into the well of the House.

The DMK was equally agitated with Mr. T.R. Baalu and several others rushing to the well. In the din and noise the two sides made allegations and counter allegations against each other, forgetting the issue being discussed.

Repeated pleas by Ms. Margaret Alva, who was in the Chair, that the members should go back to their seats and that Mr. Palanimanickam should be allowed to complete his address failed to evoke any response. The Chair then adjourned the House for 10 minutes.
