Stabbing sparks tension in U.P. town

FATEHPUR (UP), DEC.12. Tension prevailed in Bindaki town of the district today following the alleged stabbing of a corporator by members of a particular community.

The Superintendent of Police, Mr. Rajesh Rai said here that some persons, reportedly belonging to a particular community, stabbed and fired at Mr. Luxmi Kant Misra, following an altercation.

Four persons had been taken into custody in this connection, Mr. Rai said.

The situation, though tense was under control, he said, adding security forces had been deployed in strength to maintain law and order.
