Cong. moves to 'topple' Vajpayee govt. will fail: Ramadoss

By Our Staff Reporter

NAGERCOIL, DEC. 10. While contending that the chargesheeted Union Ministers need not step down and that the BJP and the minorities should abide by the court verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case, the PMK founder, Dr. Ramadoss has claimed that the efforts of the Congress (I) in attempting to bring down the Vajpayee government on this issue would be an exercise in futility. Maintaining that the NDA government at the Centre would last the full term, Dr. Ramadoss told reporters at Kanyakumari near here on Saturday that the Vajpayee government would survive any no confidence motion moved by the Congress (I) and exuded confidence that Mr. Vajpayee would clear the misconceptions on this front.

Reiterating his commitment to remain in the NDA combine, Dr. Ramadoss faulted the media for distorting his views on various counts and alleged that the media projected a non- existent `cold war' between the PMK and the DMK. He said `minor irritants were not uncommon' in coalition politics and this would not hamper the cordial relationship in any way.

A separate Eelam would be a permanent solution to the ethnic crisis in Sri Lanka, he replied to a specific query and added his party extended moral support to the LTTE, which in his opinion was a `liberation movement' and not a terrorist outfit as presumed by many.

Opposing the inclusion of the Tamizhaga Rajiv Congress in the NDA combine, Dr. Ramadoss parried a query on the Tamil Nadu Liberation Front's intention in operating a web site.
