Zee terminates contract of Kher, Koirala

MUMBAI, DEC. 10. Zee television today announced termination of its contract with Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala, anchors of its game show Sawal Dus Crore Ka (SDCK), saying it will discontinue with the present format of SDCK.

``Both the anchors continued to lack rapport and harmony, ever since the launch of the show and it is sad that their individual ego should have marred or impaired the world's largest to be entertainment show'', a release from Zee television said here.

The preponderant public opinion, views of the participants on the show and a report from the programme director had stated that ``lack of working relationship between the two anchors has been a major cause for the poor performance of the show'', adding that ``present state of rapport between the anchors is beyond revival.''

The company has now worked out a format with a mega-appeal interface between the anchor and the wannab contestant, the release claimed. SDCK will have five contestants instead of current 21 and as against two lifelines, the company will give options of two buy-ins.

The company was terminating the contract with the anchors within its rights under the agreements with them, it said.
