BJP trying to implement 'secret agenda': Swamy

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, DEC. 9. The Janata Party president, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, today accused the BJP of trying to implement its `secret agenda' in Ayodhya while continuing to `fool the people' with the `secular national agenda' of the NDA Government.

He told presspersons that the BJP-led Government should call a mid-term poll if the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, stuck to his stand that a Ram temple be built at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

A breach of privilege motion should be moved against the Union Home Minister, Mr. L.K. Advani, for claiming in the House that the Multi-Disciplinary Monitoring Agency (MDMA) had raised with the Sri Lankan authorities the issue of extraditing the LTTE chief, Mr. V.Prabhakaran, he said. The Sri Lankan Government had already denied that the extradition issue came up in the discussions. The silence of the Congress on this issue `further confirms' that the party under Mrs. Sonia Gandhi had `gone soft' on the LTTE.

The Janata Party leader urged the TMC president, Mr. G.K. Moopanar, to ask for an MDMA investigation into the allegation of Pondicherry Minister, Mr. P. Kannan, that his colleague, Mr. Jayakumar, had links with the LTTE.
