SRM Systems opens dedicated centre for Japan

CHENNAI, DEC. 7. The Chennai-based SRM Systems and Software (SRMSS), a software services company, has opened a new Japanese software development centre here. The Japanese Counsul General, Mr. Ryuichi Ishii, inaugurated the centre today.

Speaking to The Hindu Mr. P. Sathyanarayanan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of SRM Systems and Software, said the centre was dedicated to provide services to Japan. It will primarily focus on offering high end turnkey solutions to its clients in Japan. The technology expertise covers Internet and e-commerce applications, web enabled client server and high end multimedia and graphics.

Mr. Sathyanarayanan said - SRM Systems, belonging to the SRM group, had offices in Boston and Austin in the U.S. The company is shortly opening an office in California and thinking of another in Santa Clara by January next. The company has entered into a joint venture agreement with LAS Corporation of Japan, a part of the Daiei retail group. The training division has been doing well, he said and added that the company had signed up 10 franchisee centres. Besides, it is also planning to open its own centres in Bangalore and Coimbatore. By the end of January, around 30 franchisee centres and 10 own centres are expected to be functional.

Apart from these, 10 overseas franchisee centres are planned in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bangladesh, UAE, Singapore and Malaysia.

The SRM Group has interests in engineering, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, financial services, construction, transportation and education. It has an asset base of more than $100 million.
