Women's dharna for total prohibition

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC.5. The Kerala NGO Association organised a mass dharna of women NGOs before the Secretariat today demanding the imposition of total prohibition. Ms.A.Nafeesath Beevi who inaugurated it, held liquor responsible for all the ills of the society and asked the Nayanar Government which patronised liquor barons to quit if it had any self-respect.

She asked the UDF to clarify its stand on the imposition of total prohibition. The convener of the women's Forum, Ms.Else C.Kurien, the president of the NGO Association, Mr.Kampara Narayanan and the leader of the Madhya Viruddha Janakeeya Munnani, Mr.Joseph K.Kurien were among those who addressed the participants.
