ABVP to focus on degeneration in education
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 5. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi
Parishad has planned a series of campaigns and agitations to
highlight the rot that has set into the educational sector in
particular and into public life at large in Kerala.
This was disclosed at a press conference held here today by the
State president of the ABVP, Mr. V. Unnikrishnan and the State
secretary, Ms. T. P. Sindhumol.
The ABVP will organise college unit conferences from December 7
to 11 in all the colleges in the State to enlighten the students
about the grave threats being faced by the education sector in
the State. On December 20, dharnas will be organised in all
district centres. Padayatras, conventions and rallies will be
organised at the taluk level throughout the State in January.
On January 11 and 12, seminars and discussions will be organised
to focus attention on instances of harassment of women in Kerala.
Hundreds of girl students will participate in special conventions
scheduled at Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
The ABVP welcomes and supports the findings and recommendations
of the Perumal Committee set up by the MG University and demands
implementation of the same, he said and added that the ABVP in no
way supports the ongoing spate of political murders in Kannur.
