Postal strike as planned
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, DEC. 4. The Joint Council of Action of postal workers
tonight decided to proceed with its plan to go on a countrywide
strike from 6 a.m. tomorrow. The JCA felt that discussions with
the Union Communications Minister, Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, and the
Postal Secretary indicated that the Government was prepared to
resolve only three minor issues, while the main demands including
regularisation of the services of over three lakh rural postmen
were left unaddressed.
