By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 25. The Kerala Madya Nirodhana Samithi
has petitioned the State Governor, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kang, to
accord sanction to prosecute the Excise Minister, Mr. T. Sivadasa
Menon, among others, on the basis of a public interest case filed
by the samithi in the High Court in connection with the recent
spurious liquor tragedy.
Apart from Mr. Sivadasa Menon, the Excise Commissioner, Ms. J.
Lalithambika, and the Beverages Corporation Managing Director,
Mr. Yogesh Gupta, are respondents in the petition. The petition
was submitted to the Governor by a delegation led by the samithi
secretary, Mr. Jayaprakash Narayanan.
