CM sees no threat to Haldia Petrochem
CALCUTTA, NOV. 17. The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr. Buddhadeb
Bhattacharjee, has ruled out any threat to the mega Haldia
Petrochemicals even if non-resident Indian investor Purnendu
Chatterjee withdraws from the project.
``Nothing will happen to the project if Mr. Chatterjee leaves.
However, we don't want him to leave but at the same time we
cannot force him to continue,'' Mr. Bhattacharjee told a
vernacular daily in a special interview.
He said several big houses had expressed their willingness to
participate in the project in case Mr. Chatterjee preferred to
withdraw. He, however, did not named the big houses.
