A first for Indian cinema

NEW DELHI, OCT.21. Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "Mission Kashmir" will be the first Indian movie to be premiered in three continents -- Asia, Europe and America -- on Friday, October 27, marking Bollywood's entry into the global entertainment market.

Starring the current rage Hrithik Roshan with Sanjay Dutt, Priety Zinta and Jackie Shroff, the film will have its London premiere on October 26, at Piccadilly Plaza and the New York premiere on October 27 at Lowes Theatre, Times Square, Manhattan. The same day it will be released in Delhi theatres and all over the country.

The event also marks the entry of Sony Entertainment Television into the Hindi film industry. It has acquired the overseas distribution of an Indian film for the first time. In London a gala dinner will be held at Hotel Hilton Langham. The entire team of Mission Kashmir -- Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Priety Zinta and the brilliant producer-director Vidhu Vinod Chopra will attend the premieres. The guest list for this glittering bash boasts of creme de la creme of the UK.

On Friday, October 27, the Chopra's team reaches the US. The cocktail reception at the renowned Marriott Marquis, Manhattan will be attended by the film's cast and some of the top US celebrities. The mission will then spread to other parts of the world, announcing Bollywood's entry into the global entertainment market.

The film has been extensively shot in the picturesque locales of Kashmir and has been produced and directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and is one of the most awaited releases of the year 2000. Sony Entertainment Television feels proud to be associated with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "Mission Kashmir" as its debut in the biggest entertainment industry in the world, according to a press release.
