By Our Corporate Reporter
CHENNAI, OCT. 21. Archies Greetings, a public limited listed
company engaged in the manufacture and distribution of greeting
cards, stationery, gifts and related social expressions products,
is planning to strengthen its presence in Tamil Nadu. Addressing
presspersons here today, Mr. Anil Moolchandani, chairman &
managing director of the company said ``Tamil Nadu has been a
very promising and favourable market and we have decided to offer
our complete range of products by launching an exclusive outlet
in Chennai.'' The company already has six franchise outlets here.
Mr. Moolchandani said the store would have a kiosk and would
provide the facility to deliver the greetings or gifts anywhere
in the country. In the second phase the company would arrange to
deliver them anywhere in the world and this would happen by April
next, he said.
Archies has a chain of more than 470 franchise outlets in 120
locations and a wide retail network to cater to consumers all
over the country. Besides it has three stores in Sri Lanka and
seven in Bangladesh.
Mr. Moolchandani said the size of the gifts and greetings market
in India was Rs. 300 crores and Archies commanded 45 per cent
market share.
Archies has also forayed into the net through a subsidiary and
launched a vertical portal archiesonline.com bringing the entire
range of Archies products right into the homes, with a click.
