Hospitals asked to install incinerators
NEW DELHI, OCT. 21. Hospitals have been asked to immediately
install incinerators to burn waste after it was reported that
used syringes and I.V. fluid tubes were being reused in Delhi and
Chennai, the Union Health Minister, Mr. C. P. Thakur, has said.
In an interview to the television programme, `Janata Ki Adalat,'
Mr. Thakur said the police had been alerted to raid the places
where recycled medical equipment was found and added that the
Government was offering financial assistance to install
incinerators.In a bid to curb alleged malpractices, Mr. Thakur
said he would visit hospitals incognito at night.
