'Evolve political consensus on Bihar'
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT. 21. The former Governor, Dr. Bhishma Narain
Singh, has called for an urgent all-party meeting on Bihar to
help liberate the State from the cult of violence. He has sought
a meaningful dialogue among all political leaders, including the
Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, to find a
lasting solution.
While warning politicians that ``the country as a whole may
suffer, if the epidemic of violence, militancy and terrorism is
not nipped in the bud,'' Dr. Singh said political parties should
rise above petty and political considerations.
Other States could be affected if sanity and rule of law were not
restored in Bihar.
It was high time decay and decadence were halted with a firm
resolve and a consensus was evolved and an agenda set for
revitalising the State, Dr. Singh observed in a press release
here today.
