Indian Rayon's net at 16.4 cr.
Indian Rayon and Industries, the Aditya Birla group company, has
announced a net profit of Rs. 16.4 crores for the second quarter
ended September 30, 2000 against Rs. 10.21 crores in the same
period of the previous year. The turnover was higher at Rs.
392.28 crores against Rs. 280.04 crores. Other income amounted to
Rs. 6.75 crores (Rs. 13.49 crores) giving a total income of Rs.
370.18 crores (Rs. 266.07 crores).
After providing Rs. 20.18 crores (Rs. 15.01 crores) for interest,
the gross profit was Rs. 38.55 crores against Rs. 29.92 crores.
The company also provided Rs. 2.29 crores for royalty paid to its
wholly owned subsidiary Aditya Vikram Global Trading House for
the technology and provided Rs. 17.64 crores (Rs. 19.71 crores)
for depreciation. It provided Rs. 2.22 crores (nil) for tax.
Exports were Rs. 92 crores (Rs. 70 crores).
