Gowda, Singh to arrive in Mangalore today

MANGALORE, OCT. 19. The former Prime Ministers, Mr. H.D.Deve
Gowda and Mr. V.P.Singh, will participate in various programmes
in Mangalore on Saturday.
In a press release, Mr. Ravishankar Shetty, General Secretary of
the Yuva Janata Dal, said they would arrive in the city on
Friday.
The two leaders would participate in a public rally in protest
against the alleged mis-governance of the BJP-led NDA Government
at the Centre the following day. The rally would be attended by
Mr. Siddaramaiah, former deputy Chief Minister, the former Union
Minister, Mr. S.R.Bommai, the Rajya Sabha members, Prof.
Lakshmisagar, Mr. C.M.Ibrahim, Mr. Javare Gowda, and the former
Minister, Mr. D.Manjunath.
According to the release, over 50,000 persons would take part in
the rally from Bauta Gudde to the Nehru Maidan.
Mr. Gowda and Mr. Singh will also take part in the picketing of
the New Mangalore Port in protest against the Exim policy of the
NDA Government.
