PMK not to part ways with DMK, says Ramadoss
By Our Staff Reporter
UDHAGAMANDALAM, OCT. 16. The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) will not
part ways with the DMK, declared its founder-leader, Dr. S.
Ramadoss, at a press conference here today. Stating that though
the PMK has its own agenda it will not do anything to affect the
NDA, he said that in the forthcoming elections the PMK will
contest as part of the NDA in the State.
Though there will not be a coalition Government in Tamil Nadu,
the PMK will occupy the second place after next elections, he
predicted. Dr. Ramadoss said his party might join hands with the
Kannan faction in Pondicherry.
On the Veerappan issue, he said if the brigand's request for
amnesty had been granted earlier, the Governments of Tamil Nadu
and Karnataka would not have been forced to dance to the tune of
the poacher. He lamented that in the name of search operations
against Veerappan, about Rs. 400 crores had been squandered. He
said Veerappan's wife would not be admitted into the PMK.
