Dial 'G' for God

NOBODY can deny the fact that a part of God exists within the soul of each person. But still we live blindly hunting for God, like a deer looking for the much which lies embedded within itself. It is very strange that in spite of possessing infinite strength and glory, we are still surrounded by doubts, superstitions, fears, deficiencies and sufferings. The boundaries of region, religion, decadent culture and environment have lead to an abnormal parochial look. In this process we are losing our real selves, our "soul," our "spirit." So, dial 'G' and have Direct Appointment with God, following the steps of the author of this book.

The author, Manish Jain, tells us how to save that "soul," that "spirit" and thus live a balanced human life by giving time and thought to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. This book guides you to perfect yourself towards the achievement of the infinite. In the chapter "Alchemy of Happiness," the author says that if a man is practising religion but is not yet happy, religion fails to fulfil his purpose. The requirements to make a life happy are: a warm heart, the love of God and knowledge of God. In "The Blessed Souls" he writes that "Blessed Souls" are those who believe in God. Again, in "Why Disturb the Divine Order?," he stresses the fact that untruth and disorder lead one to chaos.

The Jewish story of the creation of man in the image of God implies self knowledge, which means knowledge of God. All the great religions have confirmed the philosophy that God lies within us. He advises that instead of surrendering to ego, surrender to the Shakti within you. Shakti has an immense power, it is full of knowledge and is an ocean of love. In "How to reach Him?" he describes beautifully "surrender." Man's greatest enemy is ego. Ego can lose the battle if Shakti makes an effort. In the last chapter "The Pure and the Impure," Maya commands over six ill bred children: Desire, Anger, Jealousy, Greed, Pride and Infatuation. These weaknesses draw you away from Self. Since we are the fruits of the same tree, we should deal with each other with utmost care, love and harmony. The strength that rules immunity can illuminate the whole earth.

The author, who has also written many books on social subjects, says that spirituality does not depend on outer circumstances and environment. It is an inner attitude. Genuine religion is that which preaches that a man is basically a man and not a Hindu, a Muslim, or a Christian. For the fact remains, religion is within man and cannot be found outside. We have wrongly stressed on the contoured appearance of religiosity in groupism, whereas God's realisation comes with efforts by Self and not from a readymade formula. The author who is just 20 years old gave his first presentation at the age of 19 in e-Biz India'99. He is continuously writing books and has written "11 X 11 X 11 Secrets of Ideal Children" which is a highly appreciated work of his and contains chapters on "Spirituality Among Children" also.

In his present book, if the sequence of chapters had been more precise and organised, it may leave a greater impact on the mind of the readers. Sometimes, repetition of ideas is also found. But still the reader is able to understand the message of humanism and happiness. Gradually he becomes involved in the book. Moreover, it is suggested that the book is not meant for bed side reading, that it requires serious attention and concentration. I will strongly recommend this book to readers interested in spiritual knowledge and development and transforming their personality. The book has also been produced well. So break through rigid walls and come out of your suffocating persona, and the breeze of fresh spontaneity will breath life and freshness in you. When the soul is fresh and caring, it brightens a light within others. This quality brings admiration and genuine respect. Self-respect breeds respect for others. Religion is built on self-respect and of a person who has this respect alone has the capacity to reach God.
