Samajwadi launches 'jail bharo andolan'
By Our Staff Correspondent
MEERUT, OCT. 4. In an impressive show, the Samajwadi Party
national secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Sarojini Aggarwal, and Mr. Gopal
Aggarwal, led a large number of party workers, a good percentage
of them women, in courting arrest on the first day of the State-
wide `jail bharo andolan' today.
A former district Panchayat president, Dr. Aggarwal described the
BJP-led Governments at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh as an utter
failure on all fronts. Prices, lawlessness and corruption have
reached a new high under the BJP rule and the people are now
ready to vote out the Sangh Parivar components during the coming
Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, she said. Referring to the
massive inflation that is likely due to the unprecedented
increase in petroleum prices, Mr. Gopal Aggarwal said the present
Government was acting as an agent of foreign traders.
