Petroleum dealers withdraw strike

CHENNAI, OCT. 4. The Centre will constitute two committees to look into issues pertaining to the commission of petroleum dealers and upgradation of the quality control mechanism for the products.

Following this, the Federation of All-India Petroleum Traders decided to withdraw their proposed `stop-purchase' stir on October 6, its vice-president, Mr. M. Kannan, said here today.

The decision to constitute the committees was taken at a meeting between officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, national oil companies and representatives of the federation in Delhi.
