The Congress(I) today bagged the Dausa Lok Sabha Constituency with its candidate, Ms. Rama Pilot, winning the seat represented by her late husband Rajesh Pilot by a margin of 65,264 votes.

PM buys peace with Mamata
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, is reported to have bought peace with the Trinamool Congress chief, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, by promising an additional berth to her party in the Council of Ministers and agreeing to at least a partial rollback of the recently announced increase in the price of petroleum products. The partial rollback decision is expected to be taken after a Cabinet meeting on October 6.

Musharraf rules out n-war
The Pakistan military ruler, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, has ruled out any threat of a nuclear war with India saying as long as Islamabad's ``deterrence is in place''. Speaking at the All-Pakistan Newspapers Society award-giving ceremony in Karachi on Monday, the General said ``no harm can be done to us because we have the potential and capability to ensure our security and integrity''.

U.S. bill approves 6 lakh hitech visas
